If you're here you want to know a little more about me as the person. The above text pretty much says it all. if there is a Jon box, then that is what I am in.
I currently live in Kirkland, WA and and am seeking work in the game industry, preferably as an artist, however, my experience lends itself to project and content management.
My hobbies include: camping, rollerblading, RPGs (digital as well as book and pencil), video games, board games, paintball, writing, sketching (Currently in the form of web comics), going to the gym, movies/videos, and travel.
Life has lead me to a career that vastly centers around sales and customer service. I enjoy, for the most part, interacting with people and the thrill of success. While sales has never been on my dream job list, it has taught me a great deal about communication and how to understand what someone else is trying to say.
I try and keep an optimistic view of my situation and approach my frustrations with humor and sarcasm. I am forthright about what I see as opportunities or concerns. I will questions the status quo in order to better understand it. I never consider my sense of pride to be at risk if I am wrong. It is my sense of pride that drives me to make sure that questions don't go un-asked.
Being creative is my passion. I love to develop story for, and from, what I see in life and around me. My ultimate career dream is to be able to write and develop a story based on dreams that express the surrealism of the dream state, but tie in a fundamental physics that gives consistency and meaning.
My goal is to develop my skills and experience in order to become an art director for a medium sized production house. While I hope to one day count Pixar in my resume, I expect to find myself more comfortable with a company that is not so large. I am currently seeking work in 3d environment design, story boarding, and set layout.
